Belcotec Relies on Multiline for Technically Sophisticated Lighting
Belcotec installs building systems that seamlessly meet the client’s requirements. From HVAC to electrical systems and lighting, from specifications and bills of quantities to final on-site installation, Belcotec handles it all. For lighting, Belcotec regularly relies on Multiline, a partnership that, according to Project Director Frank Helsen, is defined by quality, flexibility, and reliability.
Every project starts with the client’s or the consulting bureau’s requirements. Sometimes a specification is already in place; other times, the work is done directly with the client. In both cases, value for money is a decisive factor. “Multiline’s lighting products meet our quality expectations while remaining flexible enough to fit within various budgets. If a fixture exceeds the budget, Multiline is happy to propose an alternative that does fit,” explains Helsen.
This makes Multiline a reliable partner for Belcotec: clients receive the desired quality without compromising the financial plan.
Wide Product Range and Smooth Collaboration
Belcotec projects often have specific lighting requirements, for example in offices or showrooms. Multiline offers a wide range of fixtures, allowing this diversity to be easily addressed. Logistics and deliveries also run smoothly, according to Helsen: “From start to finish, the collaboration goes very smoothly.”
After-sales service is also satisfactory. “Although we rarely need it, when we had an issue with drivers, Multiline immediately sent replacements. That kind of support builds trust.”
Expertise and Support in Lighting Studies
Traditionally, consulting bureaus conduct lighting studies for Belcotec, but recently Multiline was asked to contribute to a major project for the Flemish Government. Not only the lux levels but also reflections from walls, floors, and furniture had to be calculated in detail for this lighting study. “This is a major added value for us,” says Helsen. “High-level studies like these are an important advantage in our projects.”
Collaborating on Challenging Projects
Not every project is standard. For sites such as the Posthofbrug in Antwerp, Multiline actively contributed to solutions for lighting complex lowered ceilings with climate panels and wooden slats. “Engineering comes into play here: what does the ceiling look like, what heights are available, how can the lighting be seamlessly integrated? Multiline thinks along with us and brings the necessary experience to successfully complete such challenges.”
Squadra, an experience center focused on classic rally cars, is another result of productive collaboration between Belcotec and Multiline.
Cutting-Edge Technology
Nowadays, most lighting systems are controlled via DALI, with options for daylight control and energy-efficient operation. Dynamic light color, adjusted to day and night cycles, is also becoming increasingly important. “For example, in operator rooms where staff are continuously in front of screens, such as at the Port of Antwerp or the Flemish Traffic Center, the client opted for circadian lighting design,” Helsen notes. Multiline keeps up with these developments and supports installers and clients with the right solutions.
A Reliable Partner from Start to Finish
What ultimately makes the difference for Belcotec is consistent quality throughout the entire process. From initial contact and pricing to delivery and aftercare, Multiline ensures smooth collaboration. “Everything goes well, really from start to finish,” summarizes Helsen.

Lighting in Public Buildings: From Cost Item to Sustainable Investment
Lighting in public buildings is often assessed primarily on the basis of standards, budgets and specifications. This is understandable, but not sufficient. Those who focus solely on delivery frequently pay the price later in the form of high maintenance costs, limited flexibility or premature failures. At Multiline, we approach lighting in public buildings as a strategic investment that must continue to perform reliably over the long term.
