Project Teleservice: Custom lighting for Heartfelt ceiling system
At Multiline, we continually develop innovative and customized lighting solutions. For Teleservice's new office building in Ostend, we received the perfect assignment: to seamlessly integrate lighting into a Heartfelt felt ceiling. This combination of acoustics and design required precision and craftsmanship, which is our specialty.
The request: lighting for a multifunctional design
Teleservice came to us with the request to create a lighting concept that would aesthetically complement the modular felt ceiling system from Hunter Douglas Architectural. The architect had already outlined a lighting plan, with profiles playing a central role. The plan had to comply with current lighting standards while preserving the aesthetic vision. The entrance area, which also serves as the reception space, required flexible lighting to set different atmospheres. The building also includes a cafeteria, fitness room, and various circulation and workspaces, each with their own specific lighting requirements.
The solution: balancing aesthetics and functionality
Our Rekta 40 fixtures align perfectly with the height of the felt slats, making them the ideal choice for the project. By replacing some slats with our lighting profiles, we created a harmonious design where the lighting blends seamlessly into the ceiling. The white profiles and diffusers provide a refined and uniform aesthetic.
In the entrance area, we implemented dimmable lighting for ambiance control, while the office spaces were equipped with L-shaped structures with mitered corners. These light lines elegantly flow into corners without visible interruptions. The cafeteria and fitness room each feature light distribution tailored to their purpose: spots and accent lighting for a cozy atmosphere in the cafeteria, and uniform lighting for functional use in the fitness room.
The play of horizontal and vertical light lines on the top floor, along the columns, and in the circulation areas added a playful element to the design. The result is a unique interplay of lines that enhances the building’s architecture.
The execution: precise collaboration and customization
Our role went beyond merely supplying the luminaires. We also provided the necessary advice, by conducting lighting calculations and coordinating them with the architect and installers. The project was carried out floor by floor, which we took into account in our deliveries.
Teleservice chose Multiline for our expertise in seamlessly integrating lighting into architectural designs. Our products, specifically tailored for applications such as ceiling systems, offer architects the freedom to play with texture and light. Thanks to our precise finishing – such as corner joints and uniform light distribution – our luminaires blend effortlessly into the interior, maintaining both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The end result is an ergonomic office environment that strikes a perfect balance between style and comfort.

Refitting vs. Relighting: What’s the Best Choice for Your Project?
Anyone looking to make lighting in an existing building more sustainable quickly encounters this question: should we upgrade the existing fixtures (refitting) or replace everything (relighting)? We don’t just look at the purchase price but at the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) — including energy consumption, maintenance, flexibility, and lifetime. This blog explains how to make the right decision between refitting and relighting.

Lighting in Public Buildings: From Cost Item to Sustainable Investment
Lighting in public buildings is often assessed primarily on the basis of standards, budgets and specifications. This is understandable, but not sufficient. Those who focus solely on delivery frequently pay the price later in the form of high maintenance costs, limited flexibility or premature failures. At Multiline, we approach lighting in public buildings as a strategic investment that must continue to perform reliably over the long term.
